Rafa Draws for Rogers Cup

Federer practicing at the Rogers Cup (from Rogers Cup Facebook page)

Rafa Nadal helped with the official draw for the Rogers Cup today in Toronto. We're still waiting for the draw sheet to be posted on the Tennis Canada website, but here's the info I've got so far:

Nadal and Murray will be on one side of the draw, and Djokovic and Federer will be on the other side.

The most interesting first round match-up is definitely Ferrer vs. Nalbandian. It's really too bad that these guys have to play each other so early. Ferrer is always a threat and Nalbandian has been on fire in Washington this week, so I have no idea which player will make it through to the next round.

Other interesting first round matches include Youzhny/Simon, Gonzales/Monfils, Tipsarevic/Kohlschreiber, and Gulbis/Bellucci. I'm also looking forward to the match-up between Canadian Frank Dancevic and Stan Wawrinka, with the winner playing Nadal in the second round.

I'm heading to the Rogers Cup early tomorrow morning, so check back tomorrow evening for lots of photos and stories from Day 1 of the tournament.
