Federer, Annacone at Rogers Cup

It's raining really, really hard out right now, so I'm going to wait a bit and hope that it stops before I head out to the Rogers Cup. The good news is that while I'm waiting, I can post more photos from Day 1 of the event.

Let's start with Federer since it's his birthday today. Fed looked good at practice yesterday—relaxed and smiling, with Mirka watching from the bench and Paul Annacone coaching him on the court. He was, of course, wearing a monogrammed RF shirt, and plaid shorts. Roger practiced with Kohlschreiber first and then later with Soderling. Below are the photos...Happy 29th bday R. Fed!

Birthday Boy Fernando Gonzalez

Happy 30th Birthday to Fernando Gonzalez!


Some interesting info on Gonzo:
  • born in Santiago, Chile on July 29, 1980
  • currently ranked 25 in the world, highest ranking was no. 5 in January 2007
  • reached at least the quarter finals of all four Grand Slam tournaments
  • won each Olympic medal—gold in doubles and bronze in singles at Athens 2004, and silver in singles at Beijing 2008
  • known for having one of the most powerful forehands on the ATP tour
  • played in one slam finalthe 2007 Australian Open, which he lost to Federer

Happy Birthday to the Federer Twins!


Roger updated his facebook page today with the following message:







"We are celebrating Charlene Riva and Myla Rose's first birthday today!
We are currently staying in Switzerland and are having a great time
together. We will be enjoying a birthday party later today which will
certainly be a treat for our two little ones.

We would like to thank all fans and friends for your gifts, cards and
nice words for Charlene and Myla. We are very grateful to receive all
your support.
