Rogers Cup Photos: Nadal, Raonic, Del Potro, Haas
Lots of great players on the grounds yesterday at the Rogers Cup in Montreal and another fantastic day for Canadian tennis with Vasek Pospisil defeating Radek Stepanek, and Milos Raonic beating Mikhail Youzhny.
Today should be even better with Nadal vs. Janowicz first up on Center Court, followed by Murray vs. Gulbis, Del Potro vs. Raonic, and Djokovic vs. Istomin. I'll also be making my way over to the National Bank Court to watch Pospisil try to take down Berdych.
Here are some photos from the Rogers Cup so far...

First up we've got Tommy Haas stretching it out during his practice session.
Then we've got Frank Dancevic and Jerzy Janowicz in their second round match. Jerzy won in three sets.

Rogers Cup Photos: Djokovic and Tipsarevic Practice
Could there be a better practice session than the one that happened on Tuesday at the Rogers Cup between Novak Djokovic and a shirtless Janko Tipsarevic? Pretty sure the fans didn't think so...

Tipsarevic at Yonge-Dundas Square for Rogers Cup LIVE!
Janko Tipsarevic made an appearance at Toronto's Yonge-Dundas Square today to promote this week's Rogers Cup. After participating in a Q&A session with fans, Tipsarevic played tennis with young kids on a mini-tennis court and then signed autographs and was interviewed by various media outlets. He seemed to enjoy himself and was enthusiastic about playing with the children and answering questions from both fans and journalists.
See below for photos from the event:

Rogers Cup Photos and Recap: Qualifying Day 1
Back home from my first day of covering the Rogers Cup in Toronto. I'll be at the tournament every day this week, so check back often for photos, videos, and news. As expected, there were not many big name players on the practice courts today, as they either withdrew (Federer, Nadal, Roddick, Ferrer, Wawrinka, Almagro, and most recently Feliciano Lopez) or they're still at the Olympics (Djokovic and Murray). However, I did get a chance to see lots of great players sweating it out in the ridiculous heat of Toronto.
First up on Court 1 was Italian Fabio Fognini who defeated Canadian Pavel Krainik in the first round of qualifying.
I heard Milos was on the practice courts so I quickly ditched the Fognini match and headed over to watch everyone's favourite Canadian. He was practicing with fellow Canadian Peter Polansky.
Then Milos stated telling his coach some crazy story where he made monster-like movements with his arms.

While watching Milos on the practice courts I turned around to catch Bernard Tomic posing for photos with a bunch of fans. Made me like him a little more.

Federer Cheering for Basel's Hockey Team
So Feds, you might want to come to Canada more often because you really seem to like hockey, and we love ourselves some hockey around here. No, I'm serious. We REALLY love our hockey. Like a crazy amount. Like in a "Vancouver tried to burn itself to the ground last year after their team lost the Stanley Cup" kind of way. And yes, that really happened.

Andy Murray Hates Ice Baths
Maybe it's just me, but it seems like Andy Murray's been making a big effort to share intimate details of his life with his facebook followers. For example, he posted the following photo to his page today...
...with the caption "Ice baths. No fun." No argument here Andy, your ice bath does not appear to be much fun. But hey, cute shorts!

Oh Federer, Don't Ever Change
In celebration of Federer's win against Isner in Indian Wells I've posted a photo that I think sums up the way The Fed feels about himself...
This photo cracks me up. Mostly because I imagine that Roger made it for himself and then asked someone to take a photo of him with it. Just kidding, he would never do that...would he?
Oh Rog, you are simply my favourite player ever. Don't ever change.

Roger Federer has a Rogers Cup Fail
So, the Rogers Cup is turning out to be quite the interesting tournament. And by interesting I mean lame. Roger, Rafa, Andy, Delpo, Caro, and Maria are all out already. Seriously? Anyway, I was in Montreal this week and took some photos of the players before they all lost. Good thing I was there early in the week or else the best photo I could have taken would have been of Mardy Fish.
Let's take a look at Roger before he joins the loser train:
Poor guy doesn't know he's one day away from losing to Tsonga. Again.
Okay, good. He looks serious again.
And he's even sweating. A lot. Which means that he must be working hard.
Looking good. But...
...now he's smiling again.
Hey Paul, perhaps your pupil needs to do a little less smiling and a little more winning. Just saying.
